So, we have Serenity and Prince Endymion/Darien.

What's the background supposed to be?

He's name is Mamoru :) Well, I don't know, maybe they're on excursion at Moscow Oceanarium.

They still called him that over there; here in the US, we called him Darien for a while? I think you knew that.

What's that like, the Moscow Oceanarium.

Yeah, I know, but I don't like it. In russian translation Usagi was called Bunny, but we fans don't call her that. They're Japanese living in Japan and their author gave them japanese names, so...

In oceanarium there is a lot of water and bubbles as you can see on the picture :D

Well I like both names... and it was done for marketing reasons, which, to me, makes sense... but no, fans hate marketing like 95% of the time and they want to kill the Localizing team for it... and that gives me a very good idea for a comic...

Oh... I really want to start traveling.

Yeah, I hate that marketing, because for me it doesn't make sense at all :) bout traveling - it's really a dream, but now is such a strange time between countries...

Well, it's mostly done to make franchises out of the show, as lease it seems like it, which Toei wanted and DiC was willing to do for the US and Canada releases, until they lost the show by the time S aired, although they already had plans for that season. It's said that if you change a show to seem more like it was "home-made" and familiar, as in made in the country, then it's bound to sell better, as opposed to a show that seems more foreign and unknown. This is apparently why the names, music, and culture things were changed, though I heard that Music doesn't really do anything.

You also have to keep in mind, Japan is not the same as Russia or the US (which 80% of anime fans forget), and things that they find okay may not be okay in other countries. Nudity is present in Sailor Moon and, I'm not sure how the Russians like it, but this was before those ratings existed in the US, and cartoons were still believed to be a kids productions, and parents don't like their kids seeing nude humans. You also have Lesbianism, another huge problem in the US and, I'm not sure how you viewed it, the guys behind S and Super S, CWi, made Uranus and Neptune cousins... but the lackluster editing didn't do enough justice and made a worse problem.

Er... that didn't sound good... um... this takes it into a larger detail, but I'm not sure if you can understand it; it's HUGE:

Of course, everyone's guilty of Localization; Europe, Canada, Mexico, and even Japan... just look at what they did to SpongeBob and MLP... I bet Japanese people are flipping tables over it.

Of course, you know what gets me; there are 50 millions names for the Sailor Whatever's... Sailor Scouts (US), Sailor Enchantresses (Poland), Sailor Fairies (Korea), Guardians (Japan), Soldiers (Japan before the advent of PGSM), etc.
